Danny Mott, B.A. Music
Director of Mocombo.
With the wind at his shoulder Danny Mott came to Canada with a passion for investigating the mysteries of cultural and spiritual traditions and why they are so different and yet all the same. Conclusively, music permeates all worldly cultural traditions creating a common thread. Music's mystical ability to heal is a powerful catalyst for a brighter and more positive future. Canada is one country in the world where all cultures can co-exist.
Music studies at Toronto's Humber College music jazz program augmented Danny's growing interest in North Indian Hindustani music. Private sitar studies with York University Professor Shambu Das led to a greater interest in other world music.
In Canada through the 1990's Danny managed a national distribution service for some of the world's largest print music publishers.
University studies in Anthropology and Ethnomusicology led to recording the popular song 'I Having A Bob Marley Moment'. Danny was also a charter member of organizing 'Echo of the World Drum Festival' with Northern Ontario aboriginal organizations.
